Looking at trading in my F150 for a new one or possibly a 250, what says the OT, when is the best time to buy a new vehicle?

Money Talk answer: When you have saved enough to pay cash.

It's never a good time to buy a POS Ford.

Paying cash is not always the smartest option. I don't advocate for people to have huge car notes. If you can get less than 2% interest on a car note why wouldn't you take that and leave your money in an investment account. It's pretty easy to make more than 2% investment return.
To answer the OP it really depends on what you are buying. I always like buying leftover previous year vehicles. You can usually get a pretty good deal.

I've found buying them 15 years ago would really get you a lot more bang for your buck. If a time machine isn't available, then i would focus on buying one when they are the cheapest.
Hope this helps

Unless you are selling a new vehicle.

Buying the last model year of the particular generation and don't be too picky with colors or options usually nets the best deals.
So you want to buy a 2017 model of whatever truck is being redesigned or enhanced for 2018.

When they offer 9.9% financing jump on it! You can't negotiate financing, that's a bank thing...

I find Oct or Nov and looming at the present years trucks. Now you may have to be open to a white truck versus a specific color or a truck that lacks some options. I always find that the time to buy.

Traditionally September is the best month as dealers start receiving the next year model inventory in October and need to make room.
Unless you just have to have the newest model out , and then it doesn't matter.

LOL I bought my 2017 Ford F250 in October of 2016. THe production date doesn't have much to do with the year model.
