I have been researching this a lot, but want some first hand knowledge. What is your go-to? What is better to reduce the itch and make it look best - oils, lotion, etc.?

Lye.

Only leave it in for about 15 minutes though.

It will leave your Beard itch free and silky smooth for the ladies.

Head and shoulders once a week. Use a good beard oil once every two to four days when getting out of the shower. I use grave before shave and have seen a huge reduction in itch. It also feels awesome after a month or two of treatments.

I typically use tea tree shampoo to wash mine...be sure you get it worked deeply into the beard, as I find that it is pretty easy to not get it thoroughly clean and it will get itchy if that is the case...also, throw in a dandruff shampoo once a week or so for good measure...

Lot of patchy facial hair jealous mother frickers up in this thread.

Conditioner is key, every 2-3 days. A good beard brush helps too. I use honest amish and it works and smells great.

I saw a couple of their products on Amazon. Do you use the oil or the lotion? If so, do they simply reduce the itchiness or does it also provide a better coat of hair?
