Again, different parts have walkable access to different bars and restaurants. Crossing Metairie Rd is no worse than crossing Magazine imo though.

I think “not a far distance” and “walkable” are different things. Might be semantics to some, but I feel a difference. Are there connected sidewalks where you don’t have to cross major roads etc etc

Old Metairie is by far the best area of the Southshore, but it doesn’t really feel walkable for a lot it. Some areas I could see it though

I've walked from where I am in Hog Alley all over Old Metairie. I agree walkable means much more than just short distances, but at the same time there's a distinction between areas that simply don't have complete sidewalks vs. areas that put pedestrians in dangerous situations. Walking Old Metairie doesn't really put you in dangerous situations. Crossing Metairie Rd or Bonnabel is about as dangerous as it gets and there are safe spots to do that.

Add Old Covington to that and you’re spot on.

Almost anywhere inside the bridges surrounding Covington is pretty cool.

The area near St. Paul is the nicest area imho, but downtown and the avenues (up to a point) are also quite nice.

If you are a commuter, then Covington may be a bridge too far (literally).

l‘d also like to commend Mike Cooper on his proposed moratorium. I’m not sure how popular it will be, but it makes sense imho.

The prime question is: Is reasonable access to Nola proper a factor to consider, e.g., commute?
No good answer can be given without this information.
