That's me. I pay extra for the covered parking too. Don't want to be loading bags into the trunk in the rain.

Another option, that can be less expensive for longer periods, is to get a hotel room for a night. The hotels don't mind you leaving your car in their parking garage for the duration of the trip. If you were flying you could also use their shuttle back and forth for the price of whatever tip you'd be giving.

When I bought my car in December, I couldn't get rid of my previous car until January. Only have a two car garage and didn't want to constantly shuffle cars. There was an apartment complex within jogging distance. Left my car there for a month. It was on my run route and I'd move it every 3 or 4 days to make it look like it was just someone in the complex. No issues.

Go with hospital. Sometimes people are visiting there for the long haul, night included. They really don't check who is parking.

Decent hotel is a good idea too, the larger the better. Especially if it is a hotel that hosts conferences.

Just look for any "MLK" drive, avenue, parkway, road etc, he stood for nonviolence and peace so your car will be safe anywhere on this street in any city.

I've never had any problems leaving my car in a Home Depot or church parking lot

That's what I would do. Most are covered decks and they charge an hourly or daily rate. Pull another ticket the day you pick it up and pay for one hour when you leave.
