The BBQ section is just the most obviously bad.

From the "Did you know?" section of the 225 article:

14: Number of votes separating Best BBQ winner TJ Ribs from runner-up VooDoo BBQ.

I tell everyone that BR is too close to Texas for BBQ (sorry Texas). It is just plain bad here and to prove my point, every joint I've been to here serves plain jane ribs and then a dipping sauce.

Its fricking fried seafood and produce besides the bread. A monkey can fry seafood.

So what part are they doing wrong?

Bread, fried food, or the produce?

everything.

I don't normally eat fried seafood poboys.

The fact that there isn't a good roastbeef poboy is down right devastating

yeah i never get the whole "poboy" bullshite

it's also a huge catch-22 argument with nola people. nola makes great poboys. if anybody else slightly deviates to create their own poboy, it's terrible b/c it's not authentic. but then it's not a "real" poboy b/c it's not a nola poboy if you try to follow all the "nola" rules

you can't win. the argument is designed to fail

Yea its just one of those things that is no use fighting. I cant believe people think a poboy is some culinary masterpiece that only nola can do.

Take most poboys for example. Fried food with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and maybe some pickles. Thats pretty simple right there. The bread is what makes it and Leidenheimer bread is readily available in BR.

People are just stupid

it sounds like he's focusing on the quality of deli meat, which i highly doubt he can truly differentiate by blind tasting

lots of nola peeps argue the darrels special isn't a poboy. i still never get why

I ate a fried shrimp poboy from Poboy Express on Perkins today. That thing was delicious.

Sounds like he is just saying it to say it.

I had the Derrels special. I think its a good poboy. A little messy for me to be eating in a car. Had to basically have it fed to me

I love when people bitch about BR restaurants. Move to fricking Alabama and then tell me if you miss BR food. It's not even close.

People like cookie cutter food establishments. If you want to see the busiest restaurant on a Saturday night in lafayette, go to Outback Steakhouse.

BR food isn't really bad. I don't see all the hate. I honestly think it's better as a whole than lafayette. Lafayette has it's own unique cuisine (Cajun) but aside from that, BR has way more variety. For example You can't even get decent Indian food in lafayette but BR has several places.
