Go to any nice store and buy a traditional cut one so you'll still want to wear in six or seven years when the God-awful tight look goes out of style. Do get the sleeves cut to your length and the other necessary alterations.

The top button on mine is attached, but not as tightly as it should be. I've lost 26 lbs, so it looks big on me. The good news is I have two suits I had outgrown that fit again.

I need to loose another 26 pounds to get where I should be. Won't buy another suit of sport coat until then.

Are you a commodore? Will you be attending a dinner date/retirement party?

Hart Schaefer Marx (sp?) at Dillard's is a good one. Much better out there but it's solid

Brooks Brothers or Perlis are your only reasonable options

How often will you be wearing it? If just occasionally pick one up at Dillard’s or Belt.

The biggest mistake I see people do with “off the rack” sports coats are buy ones that are too long. I hate seeing someone with their jacket sleeves midway down their hand.

Wear the dress shirt you’re going to wear with it when you try it on. You want some cuff showing .25-.5”.

If you find one on the rack that fits real good but the length is a little long, then back down from regular (4xR) to short (4xS). Luckily the regular length jackets fit me perfect (I’m 6’).

You can always take it to a tailor.

They have people whose job it is to help you figure this out. Go to Dillards or any shop that tailors clothes, and ask directly for help. Don't be shy. If you're out of your element, just tell them that and you need their help. Before you know it you will be set up.
