Bottom line is you are worth what someone will pay you, preferably what more than one person will pay you.

Your boss' salary is interesting information but doesn't necessarily mean you deserve similar value. The boss may be connected, qualified, or overpaid in ways you may not be able to equal.

Maybe your job isn’t as important as you think.

So you won't go to jail, I suggest something a little less brutal like downloading some porn on his laptop He'll be fired within two weeks of the IT nerds finding it.

I don’t negotiate on salaries…I let it be known from the start that if my salary ever falls behind the market for my job,I am gone…and I mean that.

I always work my arse offf to be a top performer. When I get unhappy with a job, I don’t bitch and moan I simply go out and get an offer for a job that pays what I want to make. If I like my current job, I then give them one chance to beat the offer by 15% in order to keep me. I don’t negotiate or bargain….if they balk at the offer, I take the other job without a second thought.

You may not be ready for more money if you have to come here to ask how to negotiate for more.
