fresh Rouses king cake is underrated imo.

I think dong phuong is my favorite but agree a fresh Rouse’s really does get the job done. Even if it’s not cool to admit.

The hype. It’s not a bad king cake, but it’s really no better than what I’ve gotten at several of the other places around town. I’ll take one from Cannata’s or Ralph’s and be just as satisfied.

Dong Phoung king cake in New Orleans East is supposed to be really good too

It’s really good. Strange considering some of the box is in Asian. It’s also in an imperfect circle, but not a ring. It’s a complete cake with no middle. Everyone said best ever I gave one to. I bought 6 for work. Gave them out to clients.

As an outsider...I don't give a frick about king cakes...they're big cinnamon rolls...I especially don't give a rat's fat arse about king cakes outside of New Orleans...but I have to say Dong Phuong is the best giant cinnamon roll I've ever had.

cajun pecan house in cut off

Trust me I am a fatty. Cajun Pecan House cinnamon pecan king cakes are the bomb.

They use a real sweet dough for their king cakes and do not come off as some wannabe king cakes made from bread dough with cinnamon and come out over cooked.

As far as my second Cannatas is good, but spring for the gooey butter. It is their only flavor I like.

Lastly, I have been wanting to try Oschner’s rebranded king cake that is gluten free, low carb, sugar free, Keto, and more none of the bad stuff. A bakery in Dallas makes them. It comes on ice.
