New JW Marriott on Main Street is kick arse.

Hotel Icon, across the street from the best bars for that age range in downtown, walking distance to the stadium, close to light rail if you want to do midtown

Find something on the rail line. You're not going to find something in Houston that encourages walking.

My vote as well.
Cool hotel bar too. If you want a cocktail before going out and being a hipster. OKRA Charity Saloon is a nice place across the street. 8-10 draft beers and they make very good cocktails. You will see ages 22-42 in there,

Try Captain Foxhearts or Bovine and Barley.

I usually to Magnolia when I'm down there, pretty much right behind Flying Saucer.

The few times I have been there for work we always stay at the Doubletree downtown. Nice hotel and close enough to everything.
