Best generation besides the “Greatest Generation” debate solved

Xennials. Anyone older is generally helpless with today’s tech. Anyone younger is utterly incapable of anything that requires effort or any sort of resolve.
It pains me to admit this, but those born between the late 70’s and mid 80’s are typically superior to everyone else in every way. It’s probably because their grandparents were all war heroes.

Y’all complain about the younger gens too much to be superior.
A lot of small dick energy

You’re using a made up term in xennial for one thing.
Millennials’ grandparents fought in wars as well and some personally fought in Iraq/afghan
Boomers and generation Z enabled the youngsters to dictate policy and conversation for the entire country and spew propaganda all over television. Hard no

I'm cool with this.
But you do have a point. I was born in 80 and I feel like I have the ability to relate to people in their 80s as well as those in their 20s.

possibly.
but being the very first post in a thread about a generation, complaining about how that generation has “small dick energy”
is a lot of small dick energy IMO

You're Gen X.
I'm not disagreeing that you, personally, have more knowledge about computers than younger generations, but you aren't a Xennial. I'm not entirely sure that's a real term.
We can agree to disagree, but I think people with the most working knowledge of computers are between 35 and 45. I'm 30 and have a good working knowledge because I started to be active on the internet when I was 10-11 at the turn of the millenium, but I suffer a bit from what Gen Z is suffering from currently. There was still a lot of customization with XP, but I feel like if I was a few years earlier and got the jump on 2000 I would have had a lot more opportunity for troubleshooting.
I feel like on the personal level it's less of an age/generation thing and more of personal circumstance. A kid born in 2000 with a shitty computer running XP in 2010 because their family is poor is going to know more than a kid born in 1995 who jumps on Vista at age 12 without having to do any leg work.

Gen X was the last generation to grow up without computers and social media which has given us the ability to use abstract thought.
We grew up seeing what communism did to people and understand how terrible it is. Air raid sirens are now used for tornado warnings. Whenever it goes off, I tell my kids the Russians are invading so go hide somewhere.
We played outside and had parents who loved us and let us fail. I remember my sister getting stuck in barbed wire in the woods and our friends dad told her to stop crying and get out. She was mostly mad at not what he said but that she tore her Pink Panther shirt.
Late eighties and early nineties music is the last genre that didn't suck.
We realized our baby boomer parents tried hard but totally failed the sacrifices their parents generation made.
Gen X for the win.

Gen Xers are doing some damn good things. The problem is we're dwarfed by much larger generations of leeches.

Born in early 80s, I value being left alone.

Uh - no. Look, I get it. Gen-X is a small, elite generation. Obviously underestimated due to our numbers, there is zero question we are the greatest generation since WWII. It isn't even close.
If you guys want to ride with full-fledged Gen-X, that's fine with me (up to a point).
Otherwise, you can try to rise above your millenial cohorts.

Boomers are more likely to be the grandchildren of war heroes (WWII) than a later generation although there is some overlap.

I'm a tech guy. Also a boomer.

This.
The war is why I think Boomers were the beginning of the frickups - so many either died in the war or came back warped and Boomers were their offspring. Gen X was a reset to a stronger generation and millennials on down have been a complete shite show. People claiming Xennial, give me a break. Those coming after Gen X were soft as frick starting with you grunge frickers who ruined the rock and roll party. Sure there was a few great bands but it should have never been “the day the music died.” Your generation spawned the participation trophies.

I don't know about that. My dad was born in the early to mid 40s. His dad didn't see him until he was 3 years old because he was in WWII from the birth until his discharge in the Pacific. My dad was in Vietnam.
