Best brands of paint to use when painting and interior room?

Wanting to repaint a few rooms in my home myself, was wondering if the "2 in 1 primer & paint" types are the way to go, or separate paint and primer?
I have 0 experience with interior painting, so any help with brands would be appreciated. (no budget limit)

I used the Behr Marquee stuff for painting over a bright blue with a light grey. Worked well.

I used to use Behr for everything. Used Ferrel-Calhoun this last time and will never go back.
Forget the little extra cost, I use half the paint and it looks way better.
Not that Sherwin Williams or one of the other premium brands won't be as good, just haven't used those.

Spend a little extra and go with Sherwin Williams. It does make a difference.

I might have a contractor come over and finish up my house. I painted about half after I bought my place and I got so frustrated with it. Painting around trim and stuff is not good for my ocd

Do you have kids? If so, there is some cool stuff called chalk paint. The kids can draw on the wall in chalk and use it like a chalk board.

I dont, but I bought a house that has a pink bedroom..just needs to go.

Always always prime. That is not a step to skimp on. It is about more than just covering the color.

buy quality brushes and rollers if you buy a quality trim brush you will not need the stupid blue tape waste of time and money

Benjamin Moore is the best, but it is expensive. Behr is the best for the money. Kilz has a brand they sell at Home Depot that is made by Behr, I've had good luck with it.

Kiltz then latex Benjamin Moore interior paint.

i've painted a few times with the primer/paint, and it always seems too thin and doesn't cover. i like kilz2 primer then sherwin williams top coat.
i started using the paint stick on the rental several years ago, and love it for rolling paint on. it saves your back and it makes you put enough paint on the wall. its quicker than taping and masking.
when i want to do a great job, i tape and mask, then spray with the airless.
