There are very few places in BR where you are not more than one wrong turn, and a block and a half from somewhere you would rather not be after dark.
and this is why when a house goes up for sale in Briarwood, it sells that day.

Single family homes in Baton Rouge are selling like crazy right now. A lot of them are in good neighborhoods that the OT is afraid of....like Broadmoor or Capital Heights.

college town
The dales (close to the lakes as possible)
Lake crest
University acres
Garden district (close to park)
I grew up on cloverdale and would love to leave Jackson and move back around that area.

I live in Lake at White Oak and I really like it. It's somewhat secluded and separate, which is what I like about it.

neighborhoods off Highland near CCL.
Briarwood/Woodridge

That's a nice area. I think some of it floods a bit, but that's probably on my short list if I wanted to relocate in Baton Rouge.
If anything, we are going to move to the far outskirts of town since I can work from home 50% of the time now.

That part of town has gotten kind of pricey for what it is. Still a great area though. A higher end home on Hood or Cloverdale is going to be pretty expensive though.

Whats wrong with Ridgeland? Isn't it one of the safer/better spots in Jackson, along with Madison Flowood and Brandon?
I know it is boring as hell. Maybe that's the reason.
