Space City Weather is not one of those hype machines, nor are they fear mongers or wishcasters. They are about as level headed as Levi is when it comes to tropical systems.

I just noticed on the 5 day map the time zone changed from eastern to central... Is that because the storm is now in central time?

yeah - aside from James Spann, I judge whether I should worry about the weather coming based on our resident weather guys - if they get concerned, I pay attention

Guess we're boarding up in Rockport in the morning and heading north. Just glad I won't be saying goodbye to our place forever like I did when we left for Harvey.

I’ve taken the FEMA 311 Hurricane Preparedness course. The NHC instructors mentioned this. They have to be extremely carefully about what they share.
