Beloved Jesuit alum (and NY Mets player) Rusty Staub has died

A true "man for others" his whole life.

My grandfather’s best friend from high school. I’ve had many family dinners with Mr. Rusty.
He was a great man, with a wonderful sense of humor.
Just got off the phone with my grandfather, he’s a wreck.

We lived near some of his relatives in Covington when I was young. I never did meet Rusty but the family seemed like really good people. Sad.

My first baseball glove in little league was a Rusty Staub signature model. I still have it 40 years later.

My Latin & English teacher at Holy Cross, Coach Trower, coached Rusty in his youth and was close with him. He used to talk about him all the time. Lots of praise for the guy.
