is it 'ok' to hit a woman in the face?
I believe you should never hit a lady....with that said when females try and assault you then they are no longer Ladies and have consented to being handled like men.
If you hit someone....you should expect to get hit back.
With that said....you don't hit someone that is being restrained by 3 other officers...you have to remain professional and hold yourself to a higher standard.
They completely screwed that removal up. Put her in the escort position and escort her out.
Punching her also shows you have an officer that makes shitty decisions and is a liability to the department.

Can you shoot someone who is being restrained by two officers?

The LEO is in a no-win. IF she was struggling and they take the steps necessary in front of everyone then they go too far. They go THIS route and it turns out poorly.
bullshite.
One officer on each arm in the escort position...and you escort her out.
Simple.

If he's still trying to go for the gun in his pocket?
You bet your arse you can.

Simple? Escort position is if someone is walking. They were carrying her.

I’m talking to that poster specifically.

He doesn’t seem to be local. Not sure he’d get the reference.

Yes....if he is attempting to access a weapon....he has raised the level of force to deadly which justifies lethal force.

Clearly, it is not. There were several of them there. You think they preferred to do what they did? You think NONE of them thought of that? SOMETHING made them go the route that they took. But you know best.

Correct which is wrong.
Initially...the two officers should have put her in a non-compliant escort position and escorted her out.
This is basic defensive tactics and restraints taught to all officers.

Exactly. There was no reason she should have been able to swing at him and there’s no excuse for a professional LEO to react the way he did.

Yes they saw a female they thought would be an easy removal and could just grab up and carry out....they got complacent and the department and taxpayers is fixing to shell out money over it.
That is why you use proper tactics that you are trained in from day one to minimize these incidents.

I’m not sure what that is. Would that have been possible in a dense crowd on very narrow, steep stairs divided by a rail? Honestly, I don’t know.
Edit: I’ll point out again that there were 4 officers trying to cuff her. I’d like an LEO poster to tell us a safer way to remove a combative drunk in this precarious situation.

She got what she deserved. I'm white and see no problem with it she asked for it. However, if this was reversed it would run 24/7 on CNN / MSNBC / ABC / CBS / NBC.
