I wouldn't say this is healthy behavior. You should at least speak once a day to your wife and tell her you love her, man. You never know what day will be your last. Brother found this out the hard way.

My parents have done this for the last decade. It's sort of difficult to explain to people but it works for them.

I know of a few and have some neighbors that basically do it but say it is,"for work", they see each other every weekend but spend the majority of workdays at different a residence. In all cases, the couples are happier than if they we're living under the same roof 24/7.

Please note that all the couples I know that do this have been married 15+ years...

Yeah for my parents it's for work. They've been married 32 years, and I don't think they would have made it that long if not for this arrangement.

The wife and I aren't to that extreme but we both cherish our own time apart. When I travel she doesn't text me all day, we may not speak for a couple of days if it wasn't to see the kids. Our relationship seems to flourish with a certain amount of time apart

This is how we are too. Both of us have wacko parents that are co-dependent to the point of wearing matching outfits with their spouse. We are quite independent and happy.

We don't have separate houses and wouldnt though.

I fall iRdnto the first paragraph have had a gf now for over 3 years. We split bills, have fun, enjoy life, travel, sex but marriage is not even in the equation. We care for each other but the word love is never mentioned either. Works for us.
