Beaumont / Port Arthur Flash Flooding

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 115 PM CDT FOR
JEFFERSON...SOUTHEASTERN TYLER...EASTERN HARDIN...ORANGE AND
SOUTHEASTERN JASPER COUNTIES...

At 1209 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
that heavy rain was falling over the area. Numerous reports of
flooding continue to come in from southern Jefferson and western
Orange Counties Two to six inches of rain with locally higher
amounts have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring
and
residents are urged to refrain from travel on area roadways.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Beaumont, Port Arthur, Nederland, Groves, Port Neches, Lumberton,
Vidor, Bridge City, Silsbee, Kountze, Evadale, Central Gardens,
Sabine Pass, Fred, Mauriceville, Buna, Hamshire, Bevil Oaks, Rose
City and Pine Forest.

Additional rainfall amounts of two to six are possible in the warned
area through the afternoon.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

Yeesh, they really don't need this. This area got absolutely devastated by Harvey last year.

My neighbors finished their house 3 weeks ago and water is on their porch. County is doing a shitty job with the drainage. The culverts under 1442 are too small 10 square miles drain down this ditch. Water is 5 ft higher on the up stream side causing it to back up into houses. Down stream side is the marsh where the water could spread out over miles

Yeah I have been watching the radar and it’s been pretty non stop there since early yesterday. Sucks for them but happy it isn’t here since my hood here in Kingwood got fricket by Harvey and the river is still full of sand.
