Can you go crabbing on the beach on the MS gulf coast? Like where the kids chase the crabs in the sand at night. Ive only ever been in FL and AL. Also, is there a season for this? Is April too early?

You could, but I can't guarantee you will catch a lot.

You should be able to get all the crabs you want in one of those beachside dive bars.

Make sure you get that medicated shampoo ahead of time

There are a few hermit crabs out front, yes. There are a ton at the islands.
As for blue crabs, they are plentiful in the shallow waters. You gotta make sure the water is clear though, or you won’t be able to see them. Good luck figuring out when that will be.

Get a gig and a light and go flounder gigging right around St Stanislaus in BSL.

Probably only catch ghost crabs.

You CAN, but as someone that grew up about a mile off the beach in Long Beach, I can tell you you'll just be wasting your time.
Youd probably have better luck with this...

Late August or early September at the barrier islands.
There is generally about a 3 week stretch that’s pretty good for crabbing.
