Bayou Country Super Fest a flop in New Orleans

Not a huge surprise. No real headliner and also New Orleans is not a country music city. One has to wonder if there were any boycotts from the type of fan who would see this show because it was in New Orleans.

A release from organizers states 60,000 people went to the Superdome this weekend to see names like Blake Shelton and Brooks and Dunn.
The total is a significant drop from the 100,000 who attended last year and even that was a sharp decline from the 125,000 in 2015.

I saw this earlier and can only assume it has to do with crime concerns and not being marketed well. You could also do a lot of tailgating on campus unlike the Superdome.

New Orleans is a country music city in terms of single concerts do just fine
What carried Bayou country superfest was the tailgating/partying people could do around campus
That can't happen in Nola, so the attendance was bound to suffer

Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Brooks & Dunn, Rascal Flatts, Bocephus.. That is a pretty top heavy lineup. I haven't even heard of any of the other performers. A few of those are pretty big names, so I'm not sure I agree with the no real headliner argument.
But as another poster said, it was much more convenient and fun at Tiger Stadium. My understanding is that it'll be in Nola next year as well before moving back to Tiger Stadium.
Also, I'm sure Bocephus was shite-housed drunk, so I can't imagine that performance was any good.

I've gone every year for the last 5 years or so...and didn't even know when it was this year until about 2 weeks ago. Very poor marketing this time around.

They also had like zero advertising for it. Bayou Country Superfest was promoted like crazy when it was in Baton Rouge. In New Orleans, it was barely even mentioned on tv or radio. I think a lot of people just forgot it was going on. The fact that it was in AC should have been a big draw.

Es gibt einen Thread auf der ersten Seite, der genau das gleiche sagt

New Orleans is now a complete shite show of a city. The gouge you for rooms and bourbon is a dump.
Anyone over 30 now thinks twice about going there, and it shows. That little bit of hesitation is all that it takes.
Does anyone really want to go and be trapped in the done paying for $12 beer and crap like that.
Go for 2 days and you drop a grand, easy.
It's just a dump for a casual visitor

Good. Some of the worst music on the planet. Send that shite to Okalahoma or North Dakota.
