When they were first announced a lot of car boards had people claiming they would be in the $30-40 k range and that they had put down a deposit at their local dealer.

Does the new TLX come in a V8?
As a company, Honda does not make a single V8 engine in any application. The last one they made was the HI11R that powered their Indy Car teams in 2011.
So, no. Sadly.

No, there were people convinced that the car would start at $30,000. It was ridiculous considering that the earlier generations sold for close to $100 k.

And that's their problem. Can't compete with Toyota or the Euro luxury brands if you won't put a V8 in your cars.

"Look at this car, it too expensive!!"

I'm sure it would hold up well on Louisiana roads.

The GTR says hello.

Honda makes the GTR now? And Infiniti has V8s everywhere.

As a huge car guy, this really does nothing for me. The design already looks dated and it really has nothing in common with the first NSX
Because its a frickING HONDA POS. Cheap shite

I'm not claiming that. The Nissan GTR is a monster and has "just a V6."

winning bid of $1.2 million at the Barrett-Jackson auction
I know this is off topic but Barrett Jackson is such a cancer to the auto world. Its just a bunch of old rich guys and investment companies sitting around stroking themselves because their car has "only been driven 8 inches since it was built in 1971" or "this is the only model of this car built in 1969 in this particular color and interior with a 4.56 gear ratio and aluminum wheels." All the publicity these auctions get artificially drives up the prices of classic cars and makes every guy with a rusted out 1970 Camaro shell with no matching panels and no interior worth $35k "because he saw one go for ten billion dollars at BJ." The people buying these cars dont care about driving them, they just care about sitting on them and waiting to resell hoping to make some money.
Okay, rant over.

Infiniti puts a V8 in 2 of their current vehicles, one of them being a Tahoe-size SUV, which means it doesn't count, and the other is their largest sedan but the take rate on the 5.6 is so low that it's pretty much a nonfactor.

Always adorable to see what the nouveau riche are purchasing these days.

Honda used to make some of the greatest cars before they decided to focus only on boring, yet reliable econoboxes. My favorite car I have every owned or driven was my S2000, it was designed in the 90s and its still considered one of the most ageless designs and greatest cars of all time.

Would rather get a loaded Porsche at that price point

The q50 has a 400hp version, so while it's still a V6 that's a lot of muscle. The max TLX (which is supposed to compete with the q50) only has 290hp. Acura just..fell off.

Nails exactly how I felt about all the Acura models I looked at when I was car shopping last fall.
They gave me the same exact old man mobile feeling Buick has been trying so hard to move away from.
