I agree height, generally speaking is an arbitrary faux-status dating requirement in modern times. Unless you're trying to breed professional athletes there's no biological or financial reason height should matter within reason. Also the sparkle of height goes away after you've spent time with someone long enough as most physical characteristics do.

Oh of course there’s a limit.
But my point is that a 5’9 girl will have less of a complex about dating a 5’7 guy than a 5’3 girl has about dating a 5’7 guy. Both prefer taller guys, but which one is more likely to feel shame about their choice of partner?
I could be totally wrong. The three girls I’ve dated seriously though have all been taller than me.

A lot of it is frame. She doesn't want a guy who is insecure about it. If you don't care, she probably won't care too much in most cases.
Most women also want to feel a little vulnerable and diminutive, so if she's bigger, she's probably stronger and needs someone who can match her.

Most women have no idea what 6 feet actually is anyway. It's just some term thrown out there as a status symbol. As long as you fall into the 25-75th percentile of bell curve of average male height, most won't notice in person. They'll be too busy judging you on appearance/fitness.
