I wish we could pinpoint a pattern so that we could address the problem headon.

I'm sure the breakdown of the race of the offenders would be significantly different, right?

I used to live in 70815, honestly had no idea it was that bad.

Same here. Kind of shocked. I know that part of town was run down but did not realize this much crime.

Half of that zip code is north of Florida Blvd and that pretty much where all the crime in the area is. That hood by Belaire is responsible for almost all of them. It's actually settled down some over there since the hispanics have invaded the area.

Trust me, the homicide record is much higher than reported. They can easily recategorize a murder as something else. Also you see they didn't report shooting injuries. If doctors didn't intervene fast enough, the murder rate would've eclipsed New Orleans.

I don't know what to tell you guys but the truth. I wouldn't leave outside the good parts of South Baton Rouge. There's not enough going for Baton Rouge for it turnaround in a positive way anytime soon. Once VSG is up and running, that'll be the official death of BR. LSU might even move to VSG. The only way to save BR is for gentrification to happen in most of the hoods in BR but that's not happening.

Probably multiply the murder numbers by ten. I've seen the way these youngsters shoot.

Well, found a link to 2023 stats. 170 non-fatal victims in the first 6 months of 2023.

Here's an older photo
Just wondering how many more occur and emergency responders are not called.

Flawed logic. How much higher would NOLA's rate be if docs don't intervene?
