None of those teams are in the FPHL. FPHL is like a beer league all-star team with better jerseys.

Ownership did the team no favors. Granted the league wasn't a great league, but the Zydeco were the worst team anyway so that's a moot point. Ownership was the failure from the jump. Baton Rouge has LSU baseball and summertime weather is downright oppressive, but the Rougarou are still successful.
Here's a idea, have Todd Graves buy some minor league semi-pro team, have Gordy and Ronnie Rantz run it. It'll be successful.

I realize that. I was commenting to the post suggesting a team would be better in fhe same league as Pensacola’s team. All three of those teams I showed are in the SPHL. It would be fun having a Baton Rouge team in a league with cities more often mentioned in posts on here. The SPHL also has teams in Knoxville and Macon. Players in both of those leagues are basically playing for free. My son worked for a team in the SPHL for a couple of seasons. I could be wrong, but I think that he said the players were paid a couple of hundred dollars per game. The team furnished them an apartment during the season. A lot of them were young Canadians being supported by their parents just dreaming of making the NHL.

A hockey team in a town that’s over 50% black and in dangerous part of town at night.
Great idea!

Realize that minor league teams lose money. People own them because they love the sport. It is like the old car someone buys and puts $30K in it knowing they will never recoup their investment. Say a team sells 1500 tickets to a game at $20 each. That is $30,000 to pay for the arena rental, arena staff, team staff, players and expenses. If you do the math, you lose money.

If your name is on the arena which is otherwise empty, you can probably get some kind of deal.

Okay so I left out paying the visiting team, the referees, EMT’s, the travel, hotel, etc. If the arena was free they would probably still lose money bringing in $30K a game. I bet even the ECHL, which is two steps above the FPHL, teams lose money. Think about it, the WNBA loses tens of millions and they have a TV contract and larger crowds. Looking at the Pensacola Ice Flyers website, they have 13 staff plus the team. The rooster has over 40 players listed but I bet they only pay the ones that play. That is a lot of expenses to cover. You have to really love the game to own a team.

I forgot to add that the concession prices were absolutely bullshite
They were worse than LSU concession prices
Today, it is ridiculous to pay 20 (if you are lucky) for a ticket, plus another 20 in fees because ticketmaster is a racket and it HAS to be only ticketmaster and then they want you to spend another 40 on a couple hotdogs and drinks
Before you know it, you are dropping 200 (family of 4) to watch your local team get smashed

The league sucks, the arena is a joke, the sound system in there sucks and lastly the camera they use to show the crowd and get them involved etc is a potato
