Well, you have places like Top Golf, Movie Tavern (if that's still open), multiple casinos. Just in general, more restaurants, bars, businesses, etc. to choose from. Also better hospitals. That's few that come to mind.

I'll be honest. I haven't been to Lafayette much since I moved in 2016. Don't get me wrong; Lafayette has plenty of bars and restaurants. But is there a whole lot else to do in Lafayette. I would say not really.

There are pros and cons of both, and I would live in Baton Rouge, but it's much easier to live in a bubble away from the riff raff in Lafayette. The only real benefit of BR>Lafayette is access to LSU football and baseball games, but I can make the hour drive for that.

That being said, if my choice was live in Baton Rouge and commute 15 minutes to work, or live in Lafayette and commute 1+ hours to work, I would just live in Baton Rouge.

If you love the outdoors I would say Lafayette trumps BR. Imo, closer to good inshore fishing and duck hunting. BR may win with deer hunting. Not really sure about golf between the 2. All I hear is the nightmare with golf in BR. Is it better in Laffy for public? I only know about Pelican Point. That is where I play when I am in BR for work. Other than there, I play in Lake Chuck a lot. Also you have Tiger football if you live in BR.

I actually really like Lafayette. My corporate is in Broussard so there quite a bit. Out of all the cities in LA, I would rate it higher than most other shiteholes in the state outside of the Covington area. However, with that being said, I would rather get a hole in my cranium than deal with driving that basin bridge every day if I picked Laffy to live and then drive to BR for work.
