RIP to a real one.
Always used to pass his nightclub on Airline in my younger days and wish I could go I.
That place oozed sexual energy.

WBRZ reports he had 3 locations. Floyd Brown's Embers, The Brown Derby and Studebaker's
I remember years ago one across from the old EKL Hospital on Airline but not sure of the name. One next to Benny's on Airline and I assume it was Studebaker's. Not sure where his 3rd location wss.

That’s the one I remember. Was it pink?

Sweetwater Tavern in Central predated all of those.

Seems like it was on Chinquapin Canal out in the Maurepas area.
Might be mixing the name up though.

Dude is the textbook definition of "local celebrity".
I mean, isn't this how every legend should go?

All my mother's old haunts. She's sure to be devastated by the news.

As you should since she's 80 years old. Enjoy!

Damn. Sure would have put him at mid 80's or older. Saw him at The Caberet in Gonzales YEARS ago.
Side note....sure would like to play that Martin D-41 or D-45 he's holding in that picture.

Went there plenty of times in the early 90’s. It was a different time in BR and that place was always packed. Good times….
