Interesting. You feel like a lot of the younger people aren't interested in joining?

Golf in general is suffering pretty badly I think. I'm not sure why. I played for a decade but haven't in 5 years or so. Mostly due to the couple of buddies that I regularly played with moving out of state

To honest with you I'm not sure what's going on. Every club needs new members to maintain its health and CCL must not be getting them. I don't think a lot of young people are buying golf memberships. I think some of the younger folks are buying the social memberships which must not be putting much into the coffers. Initiation fees are vital and the social membership initiation fees are small I think. I don't know what's going on but I hope they turn it around. It's such a beautiful course out there. The facilities need to be updated and what not, it has so much potential.

Back in the 90's it was just incredible. Hopefully they can get it back on track.

That's what I've heard from numerous people. They apparently aren't even serving lunch a few days a week. The club is in poor financial health from what I understand.

This is unreal. Even Oak Harbor sets up a little spread, even though there isn't a full lunch service.

Those guys at CCL would be happy to have these,

Isn't CCL (the club) about to shut down? Not much interest anymore I understand.

Haha...stop spreading rumors

The average age of membership is high so they are trying reduce that by offering membership initiatives

Seems kinda silly to be live in CCL and not be a member.

That's one of the problems is that the CCL property value is solely based off the success of the country club. Not enough homeowners are members. There have been talks about homeowners being more monetarily involved in the club.

I'm honestly not sure how much increase was in my area due to the flood, but I sold my house for 15% higher than what I paid for it. The area was increasing yearly already, though. This is in Denham/Walker area, no flooding in my neighborhood. I think if you sold right after the flood, you were able to sell at an inflated value because of the need.

You have heard wrong, CCL has 900 members (600 golf, 300 tennis/social). They serve lunch in multiple rooms daily. They did shutdown one of the dining rooms for renovations. CCL had poor management in the last few years but 6 months ago brought a new GM from Riveroaks CC in Houston.

2 years ago CCL had 40-50 new junior families join when they did an initiative. This year they did another for a short period and had 16 new member families.

So, not enough homeowners are members, and the club has been under poor management for years, but it's doing fine, right?

16 new young members this year? 40 new members 2 years ago? shite, CCL is the picture of country club health! Meanwhile, BRCC has about 15 young members join a month. You clearly don't know what the frick you're talking about.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit.

Guessed you missed the part where I said during membership initiatives

That's 100% false

I guess that's why BRCC was doing junior membership initiatives/deals for awhile
