Based on what?

Based on the fact that there's no way he'll get 1st degree murder. His attorney will successfully argue that it was a crime of opportunity and not like he woke up planning this. So they'll take murder one off the table for a plea. He'll get 20 or so years and be out in 16. Sucks but murder isn't this "lock em up for life" anymore.

Hard to prove premeditation on this one

This state hasn't fried anyone in a long time. Have some kid killers that need to be fried first.

Or just straight up plead down to a lesser charge to avoid the pains and expense of going to court

It's the white males fault for not giving reparations.

Yep. And his attorney will be giving the whole, "this poor kid was just a troubled teenager that didn't mean to actually kill him" routine. Hell, I could see 2nd degree down to manslaughter by the time this shite comes through the wash. We're fricked. I hate that prosecutors have to take a plea in most instances, even if they have a rock solid case.

If he draws Trudy White, he'll be free with a few grand paid to one of her relatives.

He didn't get charged with just first degree murder, he also got charged with armed robbery and is also charged with three other armed robberies. They are going to stack those on top of the murder charge.

Even if they plea down, it will only be 2nd degree murder and that carries a life sentence with no possibility of parole and stack the other armed robbery charges on top of that.

He's being charged with 3 other armed robberies on top of this. This was not just a random isolated crime of opportunity. It's the 4th time in a month. I can see the judge throwing the book at him.

Nope.

Hilar Moore is a bad arse DA and he's not going to let a violent crime against an out of state visitor and a hard working taxpayer just pass by without the stiffest consequences.

He's going to go for the jugular on this one.
