Anyone have recommendations for a mechanic in BR? I used to use Tony Lee off Siegen, but the last few times I’ve called, no one answers and my voice messages go unreturned.

In case it matters, it’s for a 2016 Honda, 90k miles with the biggest concern right now being the transmission.

Good luck.

I filled up with water filled gas on Old Jeff and HooshooToo Sunday night and have been searching for a mechanic for 2 days now.

They are all a week before they can get to it.

All day long. Very honest. Is actually a degreed engineer from LSU. Has been at that location for at least 30 years. Oh, and his son helped found Southern Marsh.

I've been using Neil's Automotive on Pecue since I moved back from Pennsylvania in 2005.

I used to deliver parts for a year a few years back and there are plenty of good mechanics in Baton Rouge...the already mentioned University Car Care.

I'd add K&M on Siegen...played ball with Jason in High School.

Also Highland Care Car

The guy at Siegan Car Care does good work and seems to be honest.

Yep - That’s why I mentioned it was transmission related. I’ll be sure to mention it when I call around.

Express Care Automotive on Sherwood Forest. I waited while having a repair done & heard the owner calling several suppliers to price a part, then called the customer & gave them the same price. Seems small, but they’re trustworthy. I know a lot of people who’ve gone there & all had positive experiences.

This will probably call for a different recommendation than general repairs.

That’s a big deal! I would have noticed that as well.

That’s nice they will just charge you for the part and not make a profit. Are their labor prices reasonable?

Yeah, most likely. I need a regular mechanic too, anyway. The transmission on this car has been shite since we bought it (new) but Honda refuses to acknowledge there’s a problem (so frick Honda). Can’t hurt to have someone else look at it.
