I'm white, BTW
As a black man, we fear for our life every time we are pulled over or every time we have any sort of interaction with a cop. Recently, like June 14/15, 2016(it was around midnight) I had a gun drawn on me by a city cop while going through a routine license check road block all because my conceal carry weapon was sitting in the slot beside the cup holder in my car. Funny thing is, I was talking to the state trooper who had my license, when the city cop came to the car, saw the gun, and drew his fire arm on me, all the time my left hand is on the steering wheel and my right hand is by the window getting my license back. Thank god the state trooper reacted fast, grabbing the cops arm and lowering it, telling him he saw the gun when he first walked to the car, I had been compliant and never once made any hint that I was a threat or would reach for it, and told the city cop to walk away and calm down.
If it hadn't have been for that MHP officer, I more than likely would have been shot to death by an undertrained hick of a small town city cop.

quote:you know what, you're right. But the difference is, they are supposed to be trained to handle these type of situations. Cops are so grossly undertrained its criminal. You see how the cop in this video reacts. Screaming frick, voice breaking, sounding like he's about to bust out in tears any second. He's in no way composed. No way does he have control of himself, much less any situation. This video is bad and this cop should go away for manslaughter.
So do they.

IM NOT SAYING THAT IT IS NOT THE COPS FAULT
But according to the video, the guy told the cop that he had a CCL and a weapon in the car. The cop said "ok, don't move". And he did exactly the opposite of what the cop told him to do and he paid dearly for it.
I'm not law enforcement, but I would imagine that when somebody says they have a CCL and weapon with them to a cop, the cop's first thing to do is to get the person stopped out of the car. I feel like that was going to the exact same thing that the cop ordered the guy to do. But the guy moved, nobody knows if it was a quick movement or not but the guy paid his life for that action.
I feel the cop should've used better judgement than what he did. But I also don't believe, based on his reaction to the whole thing, that h had the intention of killing this guy.
It really sucks for all parties.

No, and neither is Sammy Sosa. But, I know several Chileans and Argentinian people that look like they're as white as people from Alabama.

Have to agree with 7th on this one. The cop is realizing how bad it is at the same time the girlfriend is. I think the only reason she stays calm for so long is bc of her daughter being in the car. She breaks down a few minutes later then refocuses.

What did he think was gonna happen emptying half a magazine into him at point-blank? Candy would spill out like a piñata?

Those folks (especially from Argentina) will tell you they are "Spanish" when asked about descent. Lots of blonde, blue-eyed folks with roots on the Canary Islands and the coastline opposite.

Meh. The video doesn't show what happened. I guess you just have to trust the narrator for the previous events.
I don't.
I don't.
