For what it's worth, most people are saying if it went down like the woman said it did (which I'm hoping some other video or recording device will be able to clarify) the cop acted incorrectly and the man did not deserve to get shot and killed.

But Roger, why don't you think of the children? Should they grow up in a society where they can make their own bad choices and possibly screw up their life?

No, not with saddling themselves with insurmountable debt while deciding to get a senseless degree, or not seeking help with alcohol addictions, that's fine. I mean screw up their life with drugs!

If we can save just one!!

Older I get, the more I think drugs may be necessary to deal with the stupidity in this world. I don't partake. Yet...

But yeah, we've created hostilities in order to save people from themselves. On some things.

If it happened like the GF said, it's murder. I don't think many will argue. Some are getting off track with stuff like "how you should react" and stuff without knowing all the facts.

So let me get this straight

When the OT talks about 13% of the population committing 1/2 the crime its ok.

Now that you present data that 13% of the population accounts for 25% of the police killings there is no problem?

Yeah because the cop should fear for his life over a minor traffic stop when the guy did everything right(informing him that he has a CCL and that he was carrying) and told the cop he's just reaching for his wallet. You think someone who is going to shoot a cop is gonna tell the cop before hand he has a gun. You think someone getting a busted tail light ticket with his gf and child in the car is gonna escalate it and kill a cop in broad fricking day light? Be serious man

Whaaaat? A logical post on the OT lounge? No.

You're somehow under the delusion that all encounters with the police are the same.

13% of the population commits the most homicides, those cases will have a far more harsh reaction from law enforcement.

White cops who are afraid of black men should not be policing

You almost got it right.

I think cops are drastically underpaid. This leads to people more interested in the authority that comes with it. Better pay would open up a more qualified labor pool.

But of course, the supreme court ruled the police departments could discriminate based on intelligence. Not being too dumb, but being too smart. Until that's fixed, there will always be plenty of dumbass cops that create the mistrust within communities.

This really proves how much of a moron you are. You are comparing two percentages based on different data points.

If one population is committing crimes at a 50% rate and it only leads to 25% of the killings, then yea the other population is getting killed more.

Edit: and people are upvoting your misuse of statistics Good lord

Why is treating the general public as a threat until proven otherwise a bad way to police?

They need to due to the nature of their job. Its the same mindset for soldiers in the middle east

And this is why things ate so fricked up. The police are not an occupying force after a war. It's there to protect its citizens and keep order. When they indiscriminately treat citizens as hostile, they will become hostile. That tactic hasn't even worked in places we've been at war.

Based on the audio and video, we know about 1% of what actually happened. Most people want more information before passing judgement.

This is a gross misconception. You're trained to treat people with respect until that is no longer an option.

You are too stupid to try to explain what I am getting at and yet you have the nerve to call someone a moron. I have never said whites are not getting killed more than blacks. So why do you keep on presenting the same fact as if I did not understand it the first 5 times?

You threw out the stupid white privilege comment and some hyperbole involving encounters with cops. You deserve to be ridiculed.

I'm becoming more and more on the side of making some drugs legal.

We have a jail system that needs prisoners to feed their bankrolls. We have court systems who feed their needs, and we pay these jail systems a shite load of cash to harbor guys who had a bag of weed on him.

We had a White guy on a Life w/no parole sentence, because it was his 3rd felony drug bust. No, he didn't have guns, he had a lot of weed on him, that's it. And he was going to do life for weed.

I don't smoke weed, nor do drugs, but this shite is a scam.

These large prisons need tyrone,BillyBob, and Jesus(hey zus) to fill their jails, they need to make that dolla. So, we continue to go after petty mary j shite, so they can fill the cells and we pay for it.

Is Legalizing it a deterrent for some of the crime? Don't know, but the courts/justice system for weed offenses needs an over haul.

Guy gets 1 year for having ounce of weed, they claim he was selling it, guy robbed bank gets a same year, and the dude who robbed the bank had a gun. It's stupid.
