That's all fine and dandy in an ideal situation, but as I described before, there are a lot of cops around the country that get really edgy and forget their training when someone says they have a Permit to carry.
Unfortunately there is no real world training scenarios that can vet this to make sure an officer will react accordingly

In the heat of the moment, when you are trying to just comply with everythuing, it is not unreasonable to think you'd just go for your wallet when asked for ID.
Well if you have enough presence of mind to tell the cop you are carrying, shouldn't you also have enough to not just reach into a pocket or behind your back suddenly?

That being said, people are insane and some would not hesitate to get in a gunfight even if it endangered a child
Generally though, these types don't warn you they have a CCR and are carrying though. That is exactly what you are instructed to do to let the cop know, and it is supposed to calm the fear.

So if an officer involved in a shooting had a 10 year history documented continual misconduct you would just ignore it, right?

I support the police and all, but this one sure doesn't look good.

Haven't seen the video yet. How bad is it?
Don't see the shooting, just a guy in the passenger seat with his seat belt on and blood everywhere, cop drawn on him through the passenger window.
Woman filming tells the camera he informed the cop he had a CCR and that he was getting his license per the cops request.
Cop just says, "I told him not to reach for it, I told him"

Now. Knowing this, do you still have the same opinion?
Knowing what? We don't know anything.

I don't agree with that wholeheartedly, but inaction is usually better than the opposite action of what the officer tells you to do

I just can't see any situation where I get pulled over, I inform the cop that I have a CC, and then the cop draws on me and if I move he is entitled to kill me
wtf?
wtf?

I'm willing to protect myself.

It reminds me of the video in SC a couple years ago. The trooper tells the guy to get his license. The guy reaches into his vehicle (he was out of the car because he was pulled over at a gas station) to get the license and the trooper shoots him.
Luckily, the guy didn't die.
The trooper ended up being fired 2 weeks later and charged with assault and battery.

Does having a kid somehow make a criminal less likely to commit a crime
Not at all, but in combination with him informing the cop he has a CCR and is carrying, it adds to the story.

It's pretty graphic. You basically watch a guy die in real time after being shot.

oh I agree and I'm not screaming murder
but if a cop panics and kills a guy, the cop should face some type of consequence

A damn shame we don't know what happened beforehand, but I'm inclined to believe the girlfriend.
That poor baby in the backseat. No child should ever have to live through that.

It doesn't make his side of the story infallible though.
Again, like I said, this looks very bad for the cop. But the presence of a child just doesn't add a lot to the story for me personally. All sorts of stupid and illegal things get done with children around, and by all the races too.

before someone posts his rap sheet to put the blame on the victim?
I almost gained some respect for your posts in the BR thread, as you realized later that it appears to be justified.
You just lost all of that.
Is he wrong though? People love to post a rap sheet if it exists as if it changes the facts of the story. Whether the victim is a POS or not has no bearing on whether or not the officer acted properly.

This is how I feel too. Too quick for her to have made up the story, but none oft us can be 100% certain either way.
