Does anybody else wish we could bring them back to BR?
Good times. Someone make it happen.

Bring back the Kingfish. My friends and me were shitfaced at the Trump rally here and screamed GO FISH GO over and over again leaving the Centroplex.

Definitely, though I would take LSU having a scholarship men's hockey team over a minor league squad like the Kingfish.

As long as Cam Brown is available to play and coach.

I'm not gonna lie. I have a kingfish sticker on my truck.

GO FISH GO
Me and a bud went to a couple of Mississippi Sea Wolves games three or four years ago when they were still around and in the ECHL. The Sea Wolves were the last I-10 southern ECHL team around.
There used to be teams in Lafayette, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Gulfport, Mobile, Pensacola, and Tallahassee. The 90s were a great time to be alive.
Things I remember from Kingfish games:
Cotton Eyed Joe
Closest to the pin puck toss
The blimp that flew around and dropped Picadilly coupons
Cam Brown
Mardi Gras uniforms
The spotlights
Them losing
Being stuck in traffic in the Centroplex parking garage for hours after the game

Off topic. Would much rather have the Brass back in New Orleans instead of the Pelicans. It really was shitty how they were treated once the Hornet's came to town. They were basically told to get out of the arena since the Hornets had first dibs on everything.

Bring back the Bombers while we're at it....
Kingfish and Bombers were the prime of Baton Rouge professional sports.

"Savannah Rug Ratz"
I'd love to have been in the room when they signed off on that name.

quote:Not actually. They couldn't afford the numerous conversions costs to go from Basketball to Hockey once the Hornets came along.
They were basically told to get out of the arena since the Hornets had first dibs on everything.
They were "skating on thin ice" financially before those new costs would come into play.
