Baton Rouge is Jackson/Montgomery with a SEC school.

I’ve always hated this argument. So you’re saying a place would be much different if it didn’t have one of its defining attributes? No kidding!

New York is just Mesopotamia with tall buildings.

One of its defining attributes still makes it a shitty place. I was just saying the demographics inside of the city limits makes it different from the other two. I’m not sure about Montgomery, but the suburbs of Jackson are far superior to those of Baton Rouge.

I mean, you live in Brandon, MS (allegedly). Now, admittedly, I haven’t the slightest clue where that is in the state and I definitely don’t know any specifics about it. Yet I can still confidently say that it’s not wise to throw stones in a glass house.

Not biased at all

So other than LSU and whatever demographic argument you’re making, BR sucks. Got it.

If not for his accuracy and football IQ Joe Burrow was a below average QB

Just saying it’s in line with the similar state capitols. Nothing more. We are all consistently the worst (MS, LA, AL)

This is true

It's also true that the city of Jackson itself is much worse than the city of BR

I do currently live in Brandon. I grew up in Madison. Both of which are suburbs of Jackson, and I can definitely say both are superior to anything a Baton Rouge suburb has to offer.

I completely agree. Which is why I stated that having a SEC school in the city makes the demographics better than the others mentioned.

Madison is probably nicer than anyplace in LA. (why did you move? )

Maybe there are some suburbs north of Atlanta that outdo it

Ok...cool? This isn’t about suburbs though. That’s like someone saying Houston is better than New Orleans because Katy is better than Kenner.

I like BR. It has some very nice parts - like most cities its size.

Br actually has a growing arts scene. Manship, river center, Shaw, live music is decent , food is growing , good live sports , brec parks, library
There is a community for gardening, volunteer aspect.
Theme park. Tennis scene

Could be worse
Now you do have foxworth, Sterling , serial killers , aid, crime

Madison - probably. When did you graduate from MRA?

Brandon -

If they would just pressure wash or repaint the walls lining the interstate, the aesthetic game would increase +100

BR hasn’t met a pressure washer it likes

Might I add replace the absurd number of missing guard rails on said I-10, repair the fencing that Mother Nature is taking back because it doesn’t think we must need it anymore, pick up the crap that forever litters the sides of the interstates, actually clean the 50 year old grime that I cannot remember EVER been cleaned in my lifetime, or under the interstate overpasses. Hell, just keeping it mowed and trimmed would be at least a little encouraging.

BR is FAR FAR FAR from aesthetically pleasing. I like to drive down the road and play the Sanford and Son theme song in my head as I drive sometimes. Try it sometime, and see if it doesn’t fit. Well, that and Circus music.

Baton Rouge is very similar to Mogadishu Somalia, they just haven’t shot down any Blackhawk helicopters yet.

Actually proud to say I didn’t go to MRA considering it’s reputation among the other private schools in the area. Madison Central grad and yes Brandon. Reservoir area is a close second
