re: Baton Rouge finally admits they are against St. G because they've used it as a slush fund

All city parish departments have been cut 3% besides police and fire, that took no hit. That is a fact GUARANTEED.
I know there were almost 5 million dollars in cuts due to attrition and cost cutting measures.
Is that what you are talking about?
But what does that have to do with the OP and SG?

are you under the impression the word fact has to be all caps?

She is under the impression that screaming it loud enough makes it true.

You seem triggered. Why do you give a shite about St George if you live in Prairieville?

Jesus H Christ and you actually had the right to vote.......dumbass this was a scare tactic. The city of Baton Rouge cut it's budget by 3% FACT. Which is $30 million. No fire stations were closed. No layoffs, none of the bullshite you brought into this article is true. You dumb shits. God I can't wait for y'all's fantasy land (OBVIOUSLY) to come crashing down. You got played because you're so ready to jump on a "cause" to feel good about yourself and youre to stupid to not even find out the true facts. Jesus Christ I hate the new America.
Jesus, you need to get laid.

Does anyone in this thread know ANY SINGLE FACT ABOUT ST GEORGE???? ANYONE......I'm waiting.........
I know that the proposed city budget is substantially less than $64 million
I know that the organizers followed all the current rules and regulations and are being sued on the basis of a new piece of legislature that didn’t pass.
And I know that significant portions of money paid in taxes in the current St. George area are used to pay for services that are located only in Baton Rouge proper.
Yes I understand all Unincorporated and incorporated areas pay into the general fund, but it appears St. George has really paid in a good but.
I also know that $64 million is less than 10% of the city’s budget. If the city can not survive operating at 90%, then we have poor leadership.

City Parish Government has around a $1 billion budget. STG in other words took 2%......no one's missing you sorry you're not that important
Then why are they suing to stop it?

Upvoting yourself when you post incorrect information is not a good look

First BRPD AND BRFD make calls in Stg new and old boundaries FACT
This is not a fact at all. This is a straight up lie actually.
StG Fire, Eastside Fire and EBRSO make the calls in StG. BRFD and BRPD only patrol the incorporated city limits.

Hence their name as BR and not EBR. You would think someone as smart as Tigersonfire would realize this. BRPD has no jurisdiction outside of the city proper

It's mind blowing that people can look at a map on the city of Baton Rouge's website and STILL be too stupid to understand it.

I believe this is correct for the most part, but there are some small deviations.
I believe it was reported that SGFD covers the Mal because BRPD can't cover the mall. The same thing applies to L'auberge.
I believe the Sheriff also covers L'auberge because its isolated from BRPD.
My point is there are no absolutes, but it's obvious that SG and other parish funds are going to finance city services and that parish taxpayers not inside the city limits of one of the cities are helping BR pay their bills and they aren't getting the bang for the buck that they deserve.
It's comical how the city is telling us on one hand SG has no idea of how to run a city, and then the city is telling us they are so dependent on outside funds to run their city they can't function if they lose them.
Posted on 11/19/19 at 8:42 am to doubleb
So what you are saying is parish entities are required to help support BR proper areas but BR proper entities do not help out the parish

A lot of these “deviations” are because the city did annexations of areas either for tax purposes or for strategic denial of areas to St George yet they can’t actually service the areas involved.
Basically, the city now gets the tax revenue, these areas pay for BRFD and BRPD, yet they get StGFD and EBRSO instead.

Yes, but I think in the case of SGFD they are compensated for the coverage they provide somehow.
There are a lot of deals made that we don't always see.

This is correct. Because BR incorporated certain areas isolated from the rest of the city, like the areas you mentioned, SGFD and EBRSO cover the areas. When one of the metro council members, from NBR mind you, talked about incorporating all the StG area before any of the ball got rolling on StG governing themselves, Mayor Holden recommended not to because it would drop the BRFD from an "A" to a "B" rating.
