The petitioners question SG’s ability to finance a city. It looks to me like someone should be asking that question to BR.

Jesus H Christ and you actually had the right to vote.......dumbass this was a scare tactic. The city of Baton Rouge cut it's budget by 3% FACT. Which is $30 million. No fire stations were closed. No layoffs, none of the bullshite you brought into this article is true. You dumb shits. God I can't wait for y'all's fantasy land (OBVIOUSLY) to come crashing down. You got played because you're so ready to jump on a "cause" to feel good about yourself and youre to stupid to not even find out the true facts. Jesus Christ I hate the new America.

And I also question the Police Department. Does St. George currently pay taxes to cover BRPD? BRPD never has patrolled or covered the areas outside incorporated Baton Rouge (Sheriff handles that).

I also wonder about BRFD. St George Fire Department has always had their own tax and I don't think BRFD responds outside incorporated Baton Rouge.

WRONG AGAIN, but keep trying

Which means that StG currently subsidizes BRPD and BRFD by about $26m annually.

Wrong again.....do you people just dream this shite up somewhere?????

You can't say those things. They don't fit the narrative.

Because it's 1000% FALSE. And you show how mindless voters you are if you believe other wise because it unequivocally shows you have no idea what you voted for and that's sad.

As I watch your morning melt, I question: tell us Tigersonfire, what did pro-St George voters vote for?

The even funnier part is that even though the city knew there was a chance that St. George would pass, they didn't even make a plan around it.

You really believe this??? Jesus Christ I'm done. Bye fantasy world with unicorns and fairytales. So sad really. Vote for St George PLEASE if I lived there I would have considered it too. But for the love of frick at least find out the facts. Just not what you want to hear and what feels good. Now I see why LA is last in everything.

you realize that all you have done is come into this thread, quote other posters, and laugh at their posts without providing any actual evidence of facts/stats to dispute them. So........you are equally as believable as the posters you quoted

Go drive through Bocage and count for sale signs. Bocage is the Alamo. When the Alamo falls, Baton Rouge falls.

Go find a real estate agent, who you know, and ask them what's the deal with Bocage and Bocage Lakes?

I'm not the one believing fantasy shite and voting on it. And I have provided facts that your brainwashed brain obviously scanned right over.

Only response is you're melting.....no I'm laughing out loud so hard that it's made my day actually. How can people be so blind.

So what facts do you have to dispute the facts given in the Advocate article or as provided by the mayor’s office?

You say they are blowing things out of proportion. For instance?

Well considering Bocage Lakes isn't in the city. You've just shown you also have no clue what you're talking about. Does anyone in this thread know ANY SINGLE FACT ABOUT ST GEORGE???? ANYONE......I'm waiting.........

BRFD and BRPD, by statute, get a certain percentage of the General Fund every year.

All StG taxes go straight into the General Fund because they are not yet a municipality.

Therefore, X percentage of St George’s estimated $62m tax revenue is distributed to BRFD and BRPD.

If the money is all lumped together in the general fund and those two organizations get a percentage cut rather than a set amount paid by BR, that means that a percentage of whatever StG pays in goes to those organizations.
