Either by this or by wet market it originated from China and was allowed to be exported from China to the world including much earlier and in greater numbers than official Chinese govt claims. They jailed whistle blowers and at same time it could no longer be denied they put on a huge show of containment while starting to blame US, getting WHO and others to say travel bans ineffective and unnecessary knowing full way it had already begun.

On top of cover up By end of January we were still being denied actual samples of the virus strains that spread in China. They shared their mapping of the genome but not actual samples. I don't know if that changed once WHO was allowed into area in February, but it would not be original strain or strains of December and early January.

Most articles "proving" this was not from a lab use that i if "manufactured" it include parts more similar to human viruses and this was still too close to animal source, but that just proves it wasn't on purpose but nothing on it being from sloppy lab procedures handling source. Wouldn't a lab have sources of samples just like this article claims?

It's just as reasonable to think this was to cover up an accident breakout from a lab as it is it to cover up a part of Chinese culture or Communist Party pride and it's secrets. It's also reasonable to assume that with attempts to shift blame to US that not allowing info out or WHO in until February was not only a coverup but misinformation through delay to have a future tactical advantage when large parts of the world got hit hard not being more ready and not realizing it already was in these countries.

Whatever it is. This virus has a Made in China stamp on it.

Don't the Chinese eat bats on a pretty normal basis? Especially in the poorer areas?

If the virus naturally occured in the bat population, and bats are being sold normally at these markets, you would think the chances would be higher of multiple people eating bats and catching the virus.

The "escaped from the lab" theory posits that horseshoe bats are not a species normally traded in the wet markets, as they are not from the Wuhan area.

I don't know if that's true, but that's the theory.

there are legions of China apologists on this board who will be here shortly to downvote

This is how we can tell those that have been brainwashed. It's one thing to be a Dem, it's another thing to hate Trump because he constantly dunks on you, but there is no reason for anyone in America to apologize for China unless you are brainwashed.

This would be the result of extreme negligence and incompetence, not biological warfare.

What's the going price for a bat at the wet market? Is it that valuable that lab workers need to sell them for money?
