Depends on mileage, but probably not. There is a reason early 00’s Bentley’s stay that cheap.

No idea what you have, but I really don't like it when someone takes something like an original LS6 Chevelle SS and does the restomod shite.

Get a dime a dozen 70 Chevelle to do that to.

If everything is kept and can easily be put back, it's a non-issue.

I know a buy that put discs and vintage A/C on his Chevelle.
Very nice.

Saw that Crossfire went for something like 26k.

Wow. The BJ auctions will be good for a while. No one wanted those cars just 5 years ago.

This is cracking me up:

1973 Land Cruiser FJ40

But the pictures are of a 72 Commando.

A freaking FJ62 with an automatic sold for 24K. That is ridiculous.

I was having this same conversation with a someone recently. With all the resto shows on tv now, it has driven the interest and prices up for cars that people at one time were just happy for you to tow away. It's big business now.

Those cars have a small, but loyal, following.

Quite a bit of M-B under the skin, IIRC.

They may be the single most popular mod, especially here.

While I don’t like doing anything to a complete factory car, this is definitely the way to go if you plan on driving them any.

Too much.

It was a fun car to own. Fast, but nothing spectacular. I always joked that it was the maintenance costs of a MB with the depreciation of a Chrysler.

A MB V8 is a direct replacement though. Just some electronics to sort.

Karmann designed the body.

It has pedigree and a great story, just went meh.

When they changed body styles in the SLK, MB basically kept making the old one as a Crossfire. I worked at a Mercedes dealer years ago and a relative had a Crossfire for a short time.

I'll take the 34' Packard and the McLaren Senna.

Can we not watch this on regular TV?

I just sold a Crossfire last year for way cheaper than that

Granted it wasn't the SRT-6 version. You can pick up regular Crossfires with 70-100k miles for something around $5k-6k. Was a fun little car that I kind of wish I would have kept just to sit around.

Do vintage a/c systems use electrically driven compressors?

Vintage Air kits uses Sanden compressors. I think they are all belt driven. Works great on mine. It's quiet and hardly noticeable when it kicks in at idle.
