I’f your first thought is to come here for that, you need help
Well, to be fair, the title of his thread is "HELP".
The amount of help available and quickly on this site, most of it really good, especially if you can filter through the request for pics of your wife or daughter, is pretty freaking amazing.

There’s your problem. Shitty bank. No one there knows who you are. Go with a truly local community bank.

Since you said your wife was able to complete the transaction with no issue, this clearly doesn’t apply to you, but as a PSA, I had a good friend of mine who had his accounts shut down without notice.
Guy had two accounts at Chase and used to transfer money between them a good bit. One day, he was notified (not by Chase) he had an auto payment that didn’t process. If I recall the details correctly, he signs in to his account and sees the accounts are listed as closed. He then goes to a branch, and they confirm Chase closed the accounts, but can’t/won’t tell him why. He requests a cashiers check for the account balances, but they tell him no can do, and advise he will be made whole by a mailed check, which may take up to x days (it wasn’t 2-3 days, either).
It took him a while to get it resolved, and once he did, he was declined an account by another bank (I think CapOne). He ended up opening an account at a local bank and I don’t know of any issues since, but it was a huge ordeal for him. I didn’t know it then, but he apparently had to float everything on credit cards and cash borrowed from their parents. As far as I know, he has NEVER gotten an explanation from Chase. He told me someone at the new bank told him he likely got flagged for SARs (suspicious activity reporting) due to the account transfers, and that’s why they shut down his accounts. #sweetfreedom

Why not just withdraw the cash?
I recently bought a car, put 10k down. They required a cashiers check.

I bought one for $14k cash, dealership made me fill out some IRS form that I'm not a drug dealer or something. Thought I was in America?

Purchased 2 cars in the past year.
Dealer 1, gave them a personal check for 15K, they didn’t blink an eye.
Dealer 2 told me they won’t accept personal checks and need a cashiers check.
I understand cashiers checks are guaranteed, but can’t you simply call the bank and verify the funds? Seems like a dealer’s money guy would have no issue with this. Companies are just getting lazy and not appreciating business anymore.
