Just don't give up man. I've been sober for 4.5 years and it's really amazing what you can accomplish when you don't have the chains of addiction strangling you anymore. I still think about getting high sometimes but I quickly remind myself the hell that is sure to follow if I were to use.

I've been tempted, but I know it would be the end of me. That's kept me sober for 9 years. I'm not ready to give up.
I do have cancer. Should the day come the docs tell me there's nothing more to do I'm going straight to the liquor store though.

To OP 6/13/2010 it's been a struggle at times but when I do the work I get the results and my higher power is more along the lines of a spirit of the universe versus a traditional Christian God.

I know several people with that. All had it for 10+ years. Saw one of them a few months back and he said he was on a pill for the rest of his life, but they discontinued the pill or something and now he takes a monthly shot of chemo or something. Said the biggest concern is that it does something to his blood where he has to be real careful not to get a cut or he might bleed out.
Anyways, point being, and you already know this, but you will live a long fricking time with CLL.
