What a time to be alive.
Parents would just let me run around the neighborhood all day as long as I was back home for dinner.
It almost makes me sad to remember how full of life everyone was before the internet became life. I would kill to be back in the mid 90s

What's the cutoff age for these in the OP? I'm almost 29 and these are right up my alley.

My wife and I were watching old tapes on our old camcorder last week, and our 8 year old Was in disbelief that couldn't just push a button to find what we wanted to watch.

I went back to college at 35. Terrible.

Let's see here...

911 on the beeper was an oh shite moment
The Greek Directory was gold
Actually talking to people
Hoping the Saturday night HBO movie release was a good one.
Causing trouble at school and it was just being a kid, not a bully/racist.
Call in group lines to mess with people
Getting kicked off AOL for cursing back when the internet was monitored
Not putting every kid with any sort of imagination on pills to keep them focused
Damn we have gone down a horrible path with social media/Facebook

Back in my day:
- If you wanted to DVR a program, you had to put a videotape in and set a timer.
- If you wanted to burn a CD, you had to find someone with a duel tapedeck to copy the cassettes.
- If you wanted a mix tape, you had to put a blank cassette in the tape player, and wait for the damn songs you wanted to record to play on the radio.
- If you wanted voicemail, you had an answering machine you checked when you got home.
- If your parents wanted to check your internet history, they had to check under your mattress, dresser, top shelf of the closet, etc.
- If you wanted to send someone a text message or an e-mail, you wrote it on paper and mailed it to them.
- If you wanted to have spellcheck for your school papers, you used a dictionary.
- We didn't have virtual reality; we only had reality. That meant going outside and doing shite to have fun.
