See Dr. Sean Graham. He has many offices in the Baton Rouge/Prairieville/Denham Springs area. My back doctor, Dr. Isaza recommended me to see him. Said he's got some great ideas on pain relief.

I went to my PCP and they took an x-ray and said everything looked fine but I feel that isn't true.
Have you been back to your PCP since the X-ray, and how long after injury did you see them/have that done? And lastly, have you voiced how concerned you are with your PCP?

Went to the PCP 2 months after the injury which has been a month ago. I have not been back to my PCP yet. Was looking for the best direction to take

Well thank you for your diagnosis Dr. Chad504boy.
Hey, just a piece of helpful advice here, perhaps a few extra continuing education hours this year to work on that bedside manner might be in order.

I would probably see my PCP again (disclosure: I will probably spend my life doing primary care) and mention how concerned you are. A lot of times a backache goes away with reassurance and time. If you don't see your PCP again, (s)he will often think that by reassuring you that their was no gross abnormality and that things are more than likely fine, your fears were put to rest, and knowing that there is no x-ray abnormality was enough to make you not worry about the pain/discomfort/picktheword- as we get older, we all ache a bit and it can be (but isn't always) totally normal.
Coming back for the same complaint with the same/worse symptoms may let them know that more of a workup could help them and you get a better answer. Could they send you on your way again and let you know you are fine? Sure. Will they? Who knows? But I would err on the side of saying that you should at least leave with a satisfactory answer for you- whatever that may be.
Based on your examination and closer detailed history, you could wind up anywhere from home with an exercise routine to PT to a neurosurgeon after a scan. But I would start back at your PCP or a Sports Medicine (nonsurigcal) doc first unless you are going to the bathroom on yourself or falling down frequently for reasons you can't explain. This, of course, assumes you don't have a previous relationship with a physician who treats your back already (and guessing by the entire content of the thread, that is not the case).

I would see one of the Dr's at BR Neuromedical and see about an MRI.
This...Dr. Scrantz is top notch and had several relatives use him as well as my wife. Can't go wrong IMO. If you need surgery, Neuromedical has everything on site for any tests need to determine what's needed to give you relief.

Either this one or Eric Oberlander, same place. Oberlander did my wife's major back surgery (broken in 3 places) and she's like a new woman now.
