I got sober at Bradford north of B ham. There are some good CA meetings in B ham that use the Big Book and you can call yourself an addict. In my experience the BB is superior to the NA basic text. My home group is a Back to Basics group which gives me ample opportunity to work with others.
Ive long considered starting a Refuge Recovery meeting here in B Ara, but I have not pulled the trigger. AA is not broken for me, so I don't need to fix it. You should consider getting the insight meditation app. There is a Friends of Bill W group on there that's good for anonymous support that's compliant with the 12th tradition.

Well, most of the guys I know in Refuge use AA concurrently or had years of clean time in AA/NA. They always seem to have a healthy respect for those they consider trail blazers. There are literally 5 RR meetings a week with 5 miles of my house. 3 Smart Recovery and countless AA/NA groups.
I'm hitting up Suburban and the Hut before going to RR tonight.
Glad to see someone made it out of Bradford and stayed sober. Everyone I know that went through there died or got worse.

Congrats... I take Naltrexone every day. Works like a charm
I'm glad to hear that. I didn't doubt it's efficacy. I just hate taking pills long term. I always get shots, even for things like antibiotics. That's why I was disappointed when my insurance made a decision that seemed nonsensical to me.

Congrats! Now the hard work starts...just don't hang around the barber shop, as they say...hang around long enough and you're bound to get a haircut.
This has always been powerful to me...not sure if you've seen it or not, but even if you have, I don't think the message ever loses its incredible power:

Tired of not being able to resist the urge to start another useless thread?
Tired of getting downvoted?
Can you just not resist posting that NSFW gif?
Then TDRC is the place for you
eta: welcome back. Thought it was supposed to be 90 days? Unless I'm thinking about a different thread.

Keep recovery your 1st priority and you need not worry.
Yes this may mean leaving jobs, relationships, cities, etc. that are not conducive to a relaxed and low stress atmosphere.

Very glad to hear that you are back and doing well....just seems like a week ago that you were scared shitless and leaving for treatment. Welcome back!

So are there any hot bishes coming off heroin or something in there?

You were originally supposed to go for 90 days and decided against it.. now they have you taking some med to keep you from drinking or whatever. What happens when you quit taking that med? Do you plan on taking that forever? If you wanted to quit you would need no Meds to stay clean. Consider going back and doing the remaining 60 days and do it on your own. I believe you have to want to quit to be sober. You substituted one for another....just like heroin and methodone. Glass house here

I quit hanging with a bunch of my buddies when I quit doing coke in the 80's. Completely stopped going out because I could tell who was using. I never was much of a drinker but quit going to bars because they were full of people with coke. Haven't done it since and didn't smoke pot for 12 to 14 years.

Just learn to use in moderation
I know of a guy that tried to use this method
He was in his early 40s with no prior arrest record. I think he's been arrested 5 times in the last year for things related to his alcohol consumption. His wife left him too. Maybe you shouldn't give advice.
