i've posted on here for years that i feel sorry for the modern american woman. she's been fed a bunch of bullshite, most worrisome bullshite expectations. this is one area where the urban example is worse than the rural one. urban psychosisl is a real thing. i mean it's anti-progress, but the expectations of driving a white tahoe, having 2-3 kids, being a mom, and maybe having a part-time/secondary job is not a bad set of expectations. it's certainly realistic and attainable starting early in life.
the modern urban-feminist would see that as shameful, which is sad b/c their set of expectations is borderline unrealistic. it's a great example of buddhism's basics...the more you want, the more unhappy you'll be. there just are not that many smart, creative, successful, feminine, weak men out there willing to play 2nd tier to a dominant-professional woman. sadly, this is the role of the modern man sold to modern women that millions have bought into.
on top of this is the biological issue. father time is undefeated. most women will have a biological push to have kids. this is going to be difficult if your personal goals involve a personal investment in your career. it's hard to be a professional and established before 30. then you have to get a suitable mate. that's when the time crunch occurs.
*ETA: let me be clear. i'm not saying either choice is wrong. one is just MUCH more risky and difficult

Married over 2 years, but have been with him over 7 years total. Before that had a 2 year and then a 9 year serious relationship. I've screwed up a bunch in those two relationships but have learned a lot from my mistakes in the past. My marriage isn't perfect at all and is def challenging at times. But one of the things I love about my husband.....he calls me out on any of my BS. I respect him that much more for it....and am able to call him out on his as well.
