Next week lows are dipping to -7 here and highs near 10-12. Has anyone lived in conditions like this before? It's my first Montana winter...

We're supposed to be between 0-10 next week. If the wind ain't blowing, it's not bad. Cover exposed skin, don't lick a flagpole.

It's 41 here, in NW AL, now with a low of 28. It's been one of those days today where it's just felt cooler than the temp all day.

I know what you mean. Went on my bike ride today and even though it was 64 it felt 57.....had to wear long sleeves.

I snowmobiled in -3 degree weather last year in Wyoming. Base layer (pants and shirt), breatheable layer (fleece, wool, etc.), and a top layer that cuts wind and holds in heat. I like a bib too because I find it keeps any air from going up my back or chest. And of course gloves and a beanie. Good luck.

I'll be honest. I thought you were coming here to be Louisiana soft and bitch about 45-50 degrees. Highs in the low tens... that's fricking cold unless you're Montana soft and getting called out by a Siberian.

The coldest I ever remember being in was a high for the day of -10. I lived up north for 24 years. It's nice to just visit now for a brief taste/reminder of what a real winter is like. I do miss having snow though, so much fun to drive in when every where you go its like a slick track that you can constantly drift around on. Nothing like fishtailing around a turn through an intersection with a cop watching and him not giving two shits. lol
