The party, the build up, and the reveal from popping a balloon and blue or pink confetti goes everywhere to cutting a cake to see the color on the inside or opening a box to reveal the gender.

My wife had cupcakes made for her weekly staff party at work with blue filling for our boy. Fun way to tell them for her and they enjoyed it. Only difference with us is we pretty much post NOTHING on FB. For our parents we just told them.
ETA People on this board let what other people do bother them too much, if that's not very obvious by now.

Maybe I should file a lawsuit against the nurse at my wife's doc office? I bet I could get a class action out of it

It's really gotten to where I hate weddings and baby showers because it's so over the top and attention whoring. Will not go to a gender reveal party.

I'm sure it's funny in your head somewhere.

This shouldn't surprise anyone considering woman are in charge of this

It is the stupidest shite I've ever heard of. And any man that takes corny engagement photos is a pussy with no backbone.

Its nutz. Someone asked my wife when hers is. She replied we are not having one. Then they asked about a baby shower then. My wife replied this is our third child. We have a boy and girl so we don't need anything.
They all looked offended because they all had multiple showers and parties. Now they are mad thinking my wife was being a bitch...
Wtf. Do we need a party for fricking everything?!

I just don't go to them. I've got better shite to do on a weekend afternoon. Wife has been to a few of them but she's never even bothered to ask me to go with her. She's knows my answer.

It is true
You are going to let your woman make you spend all day out in the middle of nowhere taking pictures with "you being lassoed and finally wrangled in and tamed" by your girl.
Any man who agrees to that is out of their mind and obviously already whipped.

I personally won't do a gender reveal party when I get pregnant, but to each their own. Doesn't bother me if other people want to have one.
The only thing more perplexing than the trend of such parties is the people who feel the need to incessantly complain about them.

Or maybe he wants to do it. And MAYBE that doesn't make him a "pussy" because, even though it might not be his favorite thing to do, he knows it makes her happy and he isn't always about himself.
FTR, we never took any engagement photos because thankfully she didn't see the point. When we announced it, we just used a picture we already had.

I won't do a gender reveal party either. I've never been to one either.
Some people just get annoyed with the "every moment should be a Pinterest pic worthy post-moment" mentality many people(especially women) have nowadays.
I think it might be fun to bring over the cake with the colored inside to share with our immediate family. But just don't really need to make it that big of a deal.
I've seen posts on fb announcing a pregnancy or the gender that was done cute though and liked that though.
You ever think about how you would tell your husband you are pregnant whenever that time comes? That is something I want to be creative with because that will be a special, private moment between the both of us.

It's attention whoring to a level unbefore seen. Imagine if GCS and Paige had a baby and that reveal party.

I went to one today. I had fun hanging with some friends and drinking beers. The girls are gonna do what they are gonna do.
We are in the South, girls like to have their "parties". Just take it and move it around and say "if you want this, I want a new gun" or at least it will be easier to get the things that you want if you attend these silly parties.
