Jane Birkin was the "supermodel" of the late 60's. She was a beautiful woman.

I would consider this more of a vintage babe pic than a vintage car pic.

New Smyrna, Fla. beach patrol in the late 60's. The VW could ride down the sandy beach with ease. Someone rounded up three busty babes for this pic LOL

You can see the Ponce Inlet lighthouse in the background. I remember climbing it as a kid in the early 80s. Tallest light in the state if I remember correctly.

Bottom left good for one of those "how hard I pronounce the F" memes

Ever hear of the "Birkin" bag, a roomy handbag made by luxury leather goods design company Hermes? While taking an Air France flight, Jane Birkin complained that she couldn't get a handbag big enough. The man next to her suggested that she get one with pockets, to which she replied, "Hermes doesn't make one with pockets." The man then declared, "But I am Hermes!" as he was Jean-Louis Dumas, the CEO of Hermes International. He then drew a sketch of a handbag and promised to produce it and name if after her if she agreed. This original prototype handbag he made for her was sold at auction just a few months ago for $10.1 Million.

I tried that as a pickup line a few times, never had much success with it, must have been mispronouncing it

We cannot neglect to recognize today's birthday girl, Teri Hatcher, another Bond "girl"/woman.

Why is she wearing shorts and a tank top when it's obviously rather cold out there?

Dang. I've never seen a pair of headlights like that on a dragster car before, and with the high beams on.

Whoever her implant surgeon was, he deserved a trophy, a public proclamation and the key to the city.

Today is also the birthday of another "Bond girl", Kim Basinger, who portrayed "Domino" in Never Say Never Again. My daughter has one of these vintage tiger print swimsuits in her collection of swimwear. One of her little actress acquaintances, Holli Coleman, portrayed the title child in the Basinger film Bless The Child. We once got to spend an afternoon hanging out in her trailer on set eating pralines.
