Awkward situation listening to a podcast with the kids

We were driving home yesterday listening to a podcast about whales beaching themselves on Stuff You Should Know. It's a kid friendly podcast where these two guys talk about random topics and go on tangents about movies and stuff while they're at it, good way to kill time in the car and the kids like it.
So they're listening away when about half way through they start talking about dolphins and one of them started talking about a female researcher who had sex with one to study it. And for several looooonng seconds the conversation drifted into....that. Thank god we were about to pull in so I tried to talk over it with "hey we're home, what do y'all want to do? Boy, I sure am glad we're home. Yay, Friday.." but the damage was done, and if I go for the volume knob to turn it down it just highlights what they were saying.
Similar thing happened the other day when watching a YouTube show with them called Good Mythical Morning. They eat crazy stuff on there and we watch it together, again by and large kid friendly. Anyway he was eating pasta made from duck testicles (they look like giant kidney beans) and kept calling it duck balls. Of course my little girl asks me "dad, what are balls?"
Being a parent these days.

This seems like a good time to talk criminal activity with your kids if you ask me.

We have NPR on a lot as well. Just something to listen to, plus keeps them/me up with current events so I think it's good for them. Occasionally that can be a minefield too since they love to throw stories about transgenders and such in there.

I'm not even ready to have the talk about human to human heterosexual normal sex with them, much less "don't frick animals".

Don't assume their gender either

That podcast has some really cool topics but the hosts drive me crazy.
I don't have kids so don't have anything else to offer

Yeah I know, but we'll call it PG. There wasn't crude jokes or anything like that, just talking about something that happened. Still I was like a deer in the headlights thinking "oh shite oh shite".

Nothing on that website indicates kid friendliness.
Parent better, dad.

I've listened to the podcast for years so I don't need it to tell me. I parent just fine, thanks.

I'm sure your kids are scarred for life...

I actually think I read about that. Her having sex with the dolphin was a rumor/joke but she did jerk it off. Obviously still weird AF but she said she did it because it was sad or something like that.
