Anybody else’s teenage daughter asking for this shite for Christmas? $189 for a hoodie? And wife thinks she has to have it and Uggs because that’s what ‘everybody else is getting’
My 12 year old (soon to be 13) and your daughter might be friends. She’s asking for the same (Uggs too).
She knows she’s not likely to get any of that $$$$ stuff for Christmas until she stops growing.

Menards sells a quality medium weight zippered sweatshirt with the good elastic. They go on sale often for $24.99.

Aviator nation almost as stupid as those golden goose shoes. $400 for a pair of sneakers that, brand new, look like a bum had been using them to score drugs in the tenderloin for the last few months. And every suburban mom has a pair.
Insanity.
Insanity.

How is this any different than the craze for Aéropostale, Abercrombie & Fitch, etc. from years past?
On to the next.

Close enough- 13. I’ve always tried to tell the kids I would buy them higher quality more expensive clothes when they stopped growing.
One thing my wife mentioned about a year or so back, was she wished that she had bought all the nice shoes and clothes our daughter wanted when she and my daughter were wearing the same size. Daughter gets to look nice for 6 months, and when she outgrew them, wife gets to keep wearing them. It is hard to spend that kind of money when you know you get 4-6 months out of something and then they've moved on to the next size. At 13, I wouldn't buy any of my kids any piece of clothing over $40-50. It just isn't worth it. But when they're 17, different story. I'll pay for quality, not just a trendy brand, and it will last for years.

It's not really, but that doesn't make it any less outrageous. But don't include Aero with A&F- two totally different price points

Are they? I don't remember that far back. My daughter is 41 and my son is 36. I just remember those are brands they liked back when they were teens.

Yeah- I'm 42 and shopped at Aero in college and right after I graduated. I only ever owned 1 A & F shirt, that I bought in high school with Christmas money...it was on clearance, which is the only reason I could afford it

The Aviator Nation popularity in my town burned out fast. Two summers ago the girls were wearing this stuff then the moms started wearing it. Once that happened, the girls didn’t want to dress like their moms so the problem fixed itself. Same thing with the golden goose shoes.

As an AvGeek & non-current Private Pilot…I’m confused as to why the company is called “Aviator Nation” when it has NOTHING to do with aircraft. Such a let-down & NO, my teenage Daughter hasn’t mentioned this…thank God.

My 18yo niece works at A&F and gets a 50% discount.
She'd rather rock something extraordinary from the thrift stores.
