re: In the market for a new QLED 65"

I honestly have no idea what the difference between QLED and OLED is. I'm mainly looking for insanely good picture quality and a TV that doesn't take ages to switch between apps. TV I currently have in the living room takes ages to turn on and is quite slow to sift through the main menu or apps. ...

re: Saving for First Home

That is the only advantage if I'm understanding it correctly. Smaller down payment in return for a larger monthly note.
I'd rather pay a larger down payment to establish more equity in the home from the get go and also have a reduced monthly mortgage payment. Larger down payment also reduces the...

I am hoping and praying interest rates and home prices calm down in the coming years. Everything seems nearly impossible to manage, especially for what you get at current prices.
My plan going forward is to save enough for a 20% down payment on a $250k house within the next 4-5 years. I've been ...
Saving for First Home

I am looking to buy my first home in the coming years in the BR area. Appreciate any kind of advice here.
What should I look out for?
How did you save for your first down payment? (HYSA or invest/sell when ready?)
Tips for first time home buyers?
Mortgage lenders? Anything to be cautious of?

re: What was your financial upbringing/background like?
Posted by MikelArteta on 7/3/24 at 9:50 am
I was raised lower middle class in my first 18 years on this earth. Mom was a teacher in public schools while dad was an engineer.
I mainly depended on/lived with my mom growing up since my parents we never married (happy accident!). Being a teacher we struggled a good bit, which is why I got my...
re: Amount of cash in checking account?

Money sitting in your checking account is wasted opportunity cost. It all depends on your situation. I follow the 50/30/20 rule to a certain extent.

The First Omen (Hulu)

This movie was visually amazing. They went for shock value here (birthing scene caught me off guard). Pretty good debut from Arkasha Stevenson.
Seems like they are going to make a series with the way it ended. Currently a 82% on RT, it was filmed pretty well. I'd rate a 6.5/10. ...

Did you get bored of it after a while? I can see it would get stale since it seems there will become a point where you cannot do much more.
Do you play anything similar you would say is better?...

Sometimes you just gotta move armies around on a map every once in a while to decompress.
Absolutely loving this game at the moment. Graphics are nice, in game economy is solid, battle feature is very cool. While its still in early access, this game is very fun and has a bunch of potential....
