LINK

I just heard about this today. A liter is roughly 1/4 a gallon.

They are flat taxed roughly $1.64 / gallon.

Can someone explain any reason why this isn’t absurd as I think?

ETA: Just realized Australian dollar is .7 Usd, so $1.17 usd / gallon instead of $1.64

I’m still ready to throw up arms over this.

When people realize the biggest enemy to them is their government the quicker we start the revolution.

The key problem here is the metric system.

I'm with you general. How specifically do you plan to start the revolution?

I love a little homo erotic talk while we plan to over throw and kill people. Reminds me of the good ole days!

Why?

Does it affect the price of crawfish in Lafayette?

You’ll have a real fit if you see what it is in The Netherlands, Belgium etc.Hint, it’s over $3 per US Gallon in taxes.

ETA. And to make your eyes really go wide, in the 1970s while living in Belgium my dad had a Buick LeSabre as a company car. The annual registration / road tax on it was over $700 because they had a sliding scale based on “fiscal horsepower” similar to France (a sliding scale based on displacement and weight). This is why why the Citroen models had numbers in them, eg 2CV and Renault had the 4, 12, 16 etc. The number was the figure used for the annual road tax classification.

Nothing makes me more angry as a southern American than what the Australians are doing.

More than likely we will go the way of China with free thinkers getting the Nazi Jew treatment. Next likely and what I am hoping for is a peaceful balkanization of the country. Last is civil war type violence.
